2012 Versa Vehicles Recalled, Gears Can Be Shifted Unexpectedly

Following reports that 2012 Versa vehicles have failed to comply with a specific Federal motor vehicle safety standard requirement, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has revealed that Nissan is issuing a recall for over 36,000 cars.

These recalled vehicles are equipped with an automatic transmission and were manufactured between June 9th, 2011 and January 13th, 2012. According to the official statement, the vehicles listed under this recall may be shifted out of the park position without having the driver depressing the brake pedal. This issue could occur due to the interference that may exist between the shifter rod and the shift knob.

Nissan is in the process of notifying the owners of all recalled 2012 Versa vehicles.

As a Washington personal injury lawyer, I urge you to check your Nissan vehicle immediately. All recalled vehicle owners must contact the company at once so they can visit dealers to have their cars inspected so the faulty shifter knob or the shifter assembly can be replaced for fully functional parts, free of charge.

Mitsubishi Trucks Are Recalled over Faulty Seat Belts

According to the news and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the manufacturer Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America has decided recently to issue a truck recall.

According to the articles, the vehicle maker is recalling multiple models over a possibly damaged seat belt buckle. The models affected are the 2012 FEC72, FEC92 and FEC52. The official announcement has revealed that there are approximately 760 trucks affected by this problem that could pose a serious injury risk to passengers in the event of a crash.

As a Bellevue personal injury lawyer, I urge all truck drivers and truck vehicle owners to check their models for the recalled units as soon as possible. Although I understand there haven't been any accident reports associated with this problem, Mitsubishi urges all recalled vehicle owners to contact dealers to schedule a free inspection and possible repair.

Do not delay since your safety and the safety of your passengers depend on it.

Symptoms That Your DePuy Hip Implant Failed

If you are the recipient of a DePuy hip implant and you get the feeling that something just doesn't feel right, you're not alone.  The DePuy ASR hip implant has been recalled due to an unacceptably high revision rate.  Many of the people who have failed implants experienced the sensation that something felt abnormal in their hip.  This sensation was heightened when initiating a movement such as standing up or beginning to walk.  In addition, many patients felt unstable when putting weight on their affected hip.

Many patients experienced pain ranging from general discomfort to excruciating.  This pain was generally felt in the hip, groin, leg or lower back area.  Due to pain on the side of the failed implant, some patients begin to put more weight on their healthy side, changing their gait and posture.  This can lead to pain that is manifested on the opposite side of the body.

Generally, patients are not able to function in the same way that they did before the surgery.  In fact, any athletic or strenuous activities are strongly discouraged after a hip implant.  However, if you notice after 3-5 years that your energy level and flexibility take a marked turn for the worse, it may be an indication that your hip implant has failed.

If you are the recipient of a DePuy hip implant, we strongly suggest consulting with a hip replacement recall lawyer before making contact with DePuy Orthopaedics or their parent company Johnson & Johnson.  Since DePuy is only offering to pay for health care costs, it's important to have an ASR hip implant lawyer on your side to make sure you are compensated for lost wages, pain and suffering as well.

Niner Bikes Recalls Bicycle Frames For Cracking Issues

bicycle-accident-attorneyOn May 13th, 2010 bicycle manufacturer Niner Bikes issued a voluntary recall of their bicycles.  This recall is based on the issue that the bicycle's frame can potentially crack and thus result in the rider loosing control and crashing.  A bicycle crash can result in serious injuries, particularly if the rider isn't wearing a proper safety helmet.  Sometimes these injuries are so severe that it's necessary for the victim to hire a Personal Injury Attorney Seattle in order to recover their damages from the accident.

The bicycle frames susceptibility to cracking results from a welding deficiency along the front triangle of the bicycle structure.  If a bike was to fracture while the riders was going high speeds or traveling in close proximity to a car, the injuries could be catastrophic.  Luckily, no reports of anyone getting hurt have been issued thus far.  However, Niner Bikes has received reports that 53 of their products have experienced cracking along that particular weld while someone was riding the bicycle.

Graco Cribs Recalled Due to Mattress-Frame Failure

According to reports made by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), product manufacturers Simplicity and Graco cribs issued recalls for multiple models of their baby cribs due to a malfunction in the hardware that holds the components together.   The hardware for the mattress' tubular support frame has been known to fail and become detached.  This then creates a void where small children can become trapped, strangled, and possibly suffocate or fall out of the crib.

This issue seems to be isolated to the product models where one side of the crib drops down to allow a caregiver to easily extract the child.  So far 99 accounts of the failed mattress frames have been noted.  In one of those instances, a one-year-old boy suffocated after becoming entrapped between the mattress and crib frame.  All other failures resulted in minor injuries such as scrapes and bruises.
This recall targets roughly 217,000 Graco cribs in two dozen different models.  Simplicity is no longer in business, after nearly all of their models have been recalled.  Their products have been linked to 13 child deaths since 2005.  Many of these cribs were available for sale at major retail outlets such as Target, Walmart and Babies R Us.

We understand how much faith you put into the products you purchase for your children and it can be horrifying to find out those items can cause serious injury or death.  As a product liability lawyer, the Law Offices of Kirk Bernard has dealt with many cases regarding faulty products that have led to the injuries of small children.  These products range from car seats, strollers, baby carriers and slings.   If your child has been injured as a result of a defective product, we recommend that you contact an experienced, reputable attorney that can advise you on your legal rights.  For more information on this recall, you can visit the CPSC website here.
